The Old Village

The Old Village is a complex of villas, apartments, restaurants, cafes and bars built by Count Hugh de Meyer. The village was inspired in part by Portmeirion in Wales and Port Grimaud in France. It’s gardens are immaculately kept, with pedestrian only cobbled streets and a village square, all surrounded by buildings built in a neo-classical Portuguese colonial style. It’s quiet, safe and very pretty!

The Old Village is ideally located in Vilamoura. It’s an easy 10-15 minute walk to the marina, and another 5-10 minute walk to either of the town’s beaches. The popular tourist train that circulates Vilamoura has a stop just outside the house- it’s a convienient way to access all the main areas of the town.

Golf is also on the doorstep. The Old Village actually sits in the middle of the Pinhal Golf Course, and the clubhouse is just a 5 minute drive. Vilamoura’s other famous courses – Victoria, The Old Course, Millenium, Laguna & Vila Sol are just a few minutes further drive away. Transfers are available from the onsite Old Village transport company – click2oldvillage
